Month: October 2017

Off The Digital Wagon

So, my little experiment to stay off social media for a month is over. I lasted 20 days, which is pretty good. But it wasn’t easy. It’s interesting to note how uninformed about current affairs and politics I was without Twitter. It goes to show just how reliant I was on non-broadcast/print news. I don’t read papers. I get much of my news from links on Twitter. I also missed a bunch of Twitter mates while I was away. It’s genuinely nice to be back online.

As for Facebook, I can take it or leave it.

This Is HARD

So, I’ve been off Twitter and Facebook for a couple of days now. I won’t lie to you, it’s not easy to resist the almost-automatic urge to check my timelines. I’ve held off so far, but it’s harder than you think it is. I’m sticking with it for now, but I’m almost positive I won’t last a whole month away. I did a week off social media the last time I tried and thought it a triumph! But a month?

Who knows? Maybe after a while, I’ll completely forget all about Twitter and Facebook and never go back! Bah, who am I kidding? I’ll be back in a week… You just watch! In the meantime, I’ve been busy playing NationStates. It’s really great! I recommend you give it a go.
